LEED: Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design was developed by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) in 1994. LEED was created to accomplish the following: • Define the term "green building" by establishing a common standard of measurement • Promote integrated, whole-building design practices • Recognize environmental leadership in the building industry • Stimulate green competition • Raise consumer awareness of green building benefits • Transform the building market Green Building Council members, representing every sector of the building industry, developed and continue to refine LEED. The rating system addresses six major areas: • Sustainable Sites • Materials and Resources • Water Efficiency • Indoor Environmental Quality • Energy and Atmosphere • Innovation & Design Process LEED certification is obtained after submitting an application documenting compliance with the requirements of the rating system. Certification is granted solely by the Green Building Council responsible for issuing the LEED system used on the project. Everstone Floors, Inc., is committed to top quality products and the aggressive pursuit of new coating technologies. We understand our clients’ needs and manufacture products that will meet and exceed their requirements and perform from the date of installation well into the future. Our products help designers achieve additional LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) points because our products contain zero VOCs and zero hazardous air pollutants. Helping designers meet energy and environmental design requirements is a priority at Everstone Floors, Inc. This approach provides our customers with the peace of mind knowing that the coating systems are compatible and will perform perfectly! Material and Resources • MR Credit 1 Building Reuse • EverStone Floors, Flooring Systems can be used to rehabilitate an existing building and lessen the need for new facilities. • MR Credit 2 Construction Waste Management - Reduce waste up to 90% when using our packaging system, which eliminates metal cans and other bulky packaging materials. • MR Credit 5 Regional Materials -EverStone Floors, Inc., meets the requirements of a regional supplier with manufacturing facilities within 500 miles from most of our customers. • All products are assembled on site and qualify as regionally manufactured materials. Indoor Environmental Quality • EQ Credit 4.2 Low Emitting Materials • All of EverStone's materials contain zero VOC’s and zero HAP’s.
EverStone is Documented and Proven! EverStone installations use 1 1/2 to 2 gallons of cyclo-aliphatic, epoxy per 200 pounds of stone. This is MORE epoxy than any other system on the market. This allows EverStone to achieve compressive strengths of up to 10,000 p.s.i (ASTM C-570). Unfortunately, others only use a meager 1 to 1 1/3 gallons of epoxy per 100 to 250 pounds of stone with NO prime coat. All EverStone epoxies are extremely moisture tolerant and will not turn white "blush" as cheaper epoxies do. We hear countless horror stories about competitors jobs that were adversely effected by rain or high humidity and turned white during installation. Extreme UV Blocker Epoxy - An exclusive, optional, epoxy that is far superior to any competitors because it has a proprietary UV blocking additive. Our Extreme UV Blocker Epoxy is also formulated in 3 viscosities so your installation gets the right amount of epoxy coating when installing in hotter climates. High Build Prime Coat - EverStone is never applied with the outdated and inferior "trickle-down" method of bonding decorative natural stone to concrete as competitors still do. Instead, EverStone is always applied to a clean substrate that has been heavily primed with a proprietary epoxy primer that has an adhesion strength of 400+ p.s.i (ASTM D-4541). The prime coat protects, seals and strengthens the existing substrate and allows EverStone to bond 100%. UV Vertical Epoxy - An extremely thick epoxy mixture that allows EverStone to applied over steps, retaining walls and other areas in which forms are normally needed. Vertical epoxy is much stronger than any other installation technique and is far more resistant to chipping and wear. It has been proven to be the most advanced method of applying decorative stone to a vertical surface. Elastomeric Joint Fill - A special "elastomeric" joint-fill / crack weld that transfers substrate movement to a flexible membrane. This helps to keep your floor seamless and therefore much more durable. |
